The Samadhi Recovery Community Outreach Center  is a non-profit organization grounded in the belief that Mindfulness based principles and practices create a strong foundation for a path to freedom from addiction.

These are evidenced based practices with extensive body of research behind them. This is an approach to recovery that understands: All individuals have the power and potential to free themselves from the suffering that is caused by addiction. We feel confident in the power of mindfulness and compassion to relieve suffering of all kinds, including the suffering of addiction. This is a process that cultivates a path of awakening, the path of recovering from the addictions and delusions that have created so much suffering in our lives and in this world.

SAMADHI IS NOW OPEN

Visit us at 122 Clinton Avenue in Kingston, NY.

Our programs are free for the whole community. We’ve created a much needed safe space for at-risk
and socially isolated populations.

We offer mindfulness based training, meditation, art therapy, trauma informed yoga, individual and group talk sessions, dance and movement classes, holistic based treatments, certified peer recovery coach training and more. We are currently collaborating with MidTown Rising, Center for Creative Education, and Samaritan Daytop Village.

We hope you will become a part of Samadhi.

Does our mission speak to you?
We are running a GoFundMe campaign to get
the project off the ground.

We’ve created a space where people can come and not be judged or given ultimatums, but shown compassion and understanding. Samadhi is a center where families could come for advice, support and healing. We’ve pulled together the best Trauma Specialists, Recovery coaches, Meditation and Mindfulness teachers, family therapists, acupuncturists, yoga teachers and QiGong instructors to make this dream a reality.

Our Team

Executive Director David McNamara has put together a team of leaders in the field. Some of the area's top social service workers and several prominent national thinkers on addiction and recovery have committed to the project.

Disconnected

For the past two years, David McNamara has been working on a documentary film called DISCONNECTED. In this film, he explores the largest addiction crisis this country has ever seen and the ways in which we can heal our addicted society. There is a Paradigm Shift underway in the addiction treatment community which we are only starting to see in America. The knowledge and wisdom he experienced while interviewing many of the pioneers in this movement has informed the creation of the Samadhi center and treatment program.
